MAC spoofing
Making a device send a media access control (MAC) address other than its own.
Appears in the course and exam description (CED): 3.1.A.13.2.B.4
Why it matters in Unit 3
MAC spoofing is part of address resolution protocol (ARP) poisoning, and it is how an adversary bypasses MAC filtering by copying an allowed address.
Example
A wireless network allows only listed MAC addresses. An adversary copies a listed address from captured frames and joins anyway.
Learn it properly, with a checkpoint Addresses: MAC, IP, ARP, DNS and ICMP
